Here are my choices for the best albums in 2019. Once again I have not listened as many albums as I would have hoped for. Besides, and as always, this list is also very very subjective.

Candlemass - The Door to Doom

The comeback of a century! Candlemass will crush you and you'll be asking for more.

The Conference finalists

Bloodred Hourglass - Godsend

Best from Finland at the moment!

Cult of Luna - A Dawn to Fear

Another heavyweight album, emphasis on the word "weight".

In Mourning - Garden of Storms

Seems that the Swedes almost stole the whole show, luckily BRHG kept our flag high. The most versatile act from the top five. Also did one of the best gigs of the Year in Nosturi in December.

The Division finalists

AqME - Requiem

Don't let the French fool you, this album is pure gold.

The Blanko - Stimulation Paradise

Surprised me with all the earworms and good vibes. Just couldn't stop listening. The most played album of mine of this year.

Borknagar - True North

Norwegian darkness suits the Finns as well, we just don't have the mountains, which is sad as well.

Insomnium - Heart Like a Grave

A rock-solid performer, no surprises here with Insomnium being in top 10.

November's Doom - Nephilim Grove

Sullen and depressive, the best moment of the day!

The Black Keys - Let's Rock

You just keep listening to the next song and next, just one more, this is the last one...

Swallow the Sun - When a Shadow Is Forced into the Light

The music you can listen to all (day) night long.

A Pale Horse Named Death - When the World Becomes Undone

I warmly welcome the boys of Pale Horse back but the album should have been squeezed to 50 minutes.

Overkill - The Wings of War

Pit music.

Not qualified because of the referee's laziness (too few listenings, not in particular order)
